Intermittent Fasting and Cancer Nutrition: Kate’s Story

I was keen to ensure I did all I could to protect my health during chemo, surgery and radiotherapy. It made me feel I’d be more in control. Also, as someone who has incorporated intermittent fasting into my life – and written books about it – I wanted to explore if I could do this safely during treatment.
Meredy was empathetic, knowledgeable and reassuring – I felt very empowered by her advice but not overwhelmed. What she said really fitted in with my own initial research but made it actionable and at a time when my treatment hadn’t begun, and everything felt overwhelming, it made a huge difference to my mindset. What was also really important was her advice to stay flexible – I’ve seen many people in forums get extremely rigid in their dietary approach which I think must be so punishing. I’ve avoided that. Thanks, Meredy!
Meredy is a great resource, a brilliant listener and a huge source of knowledge around how to support yourself and your body as you go into treatment. It makes a huge difference to have someone on your team who is thinking more broadly than simply about what drugs you’re going to get – this is a great investment in your future, and also very empowering and supportive.
